What is Leadership Fairfax?
Founded in 1987 by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Fairfax is a nonprofit organization that inspires, develops, engages and connects leaders across sectors and experience to impact issues facing Fairfax County and the region.
We offer three community leadership programs: Leadership Fairfax Institute (LFI), Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI), and Lifetime Leaders Program (LLP). Graduates of the programs are proven leaders in business, government, and nonprofit sectors of Northern Virginia.
What does Leadership Fairfax do?
Leadership Fairfax trains individuals to become more effective leaders, personally and professionally. Leadership Fairfax graduates use their skills and influence to engage with others, think creatively and solve issues facing the region. Based on an experiential model, each class member learns leadership competencies, increases their self-awareness and learns more about connecting with others. Our 1,800 alumni have logged over 300,000 volunteer community service hours serving nonprofits and Fairfax County advisory boards and commissions, providing direct resource development and program services, and becoming elected officials.
Leadership Fairfax partners with organizations to host educational leadership events, community forums and be the convener of discussions in the region. Leadership Fairfax hosts the annual Northern Virginia Leadership Awards to recognize exceptional leaders in the Northern Virginia area.
Leadership Fairfax runs one of the most prestigious programs in the region. It is our goal to continue to place people in your program year in and year out!
