The ideal candidate is able to travel throughout the county for advocacy visits, outreach events and member check ins. COVID-19 vaccine required.
Position Description: The Youth Leadership Network Advocacy Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of Leadership Fairfax’s newest program the Youth Leadership Network, in partnership with Fairfax County. The Youth Leadership Network is a collective of youth council volunteers, mentors and organizations, who work with Leadership Fairfax to build networks, improve knowledge and expand leadership skills through training. The Advocacy Manager will represent the Youth Leadership Network to connect youth and mentors with trainers, opportunities and resources. Collaboration and innovation are key! Work with the Director of Leadership Programs and Communications to: catalogue councils; establish and manage database; develop outreach plans to connect with Fairfax County based youth councils and groups; visit prospect sites and contacts, identify opportunities for new members and travel to prospect and member sites to represent and recruit. Position requires strong relationship management, documentation, tracking and organizational skills, along with the ability to share the positive vision for our community with others and partner with them to get things done. Proficiency in member management software, Microsoft Office and cloud storage platforms is a must. Ability to work both independently and among teams of varying sizes is necessary. Duties:
