This initiative is a collaboration between Fairfax County and Leadership Fairfax to create a collective umbrella under which youth councils in the county can network, engage in volunteer opportunities and expand their leadership skills through educational courses that address leadership topics important to youth. The leadership network provides training opportunities for youth council members, advisors and mentors.

FAIRFAX COUNTY YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The Fairfax County Youth Leadership Program is designed to educate and motivate high school students to become engaged citizens and leaders in the community. Students participate in monthly learning sessions, complete a three-week paid internship in a Fairfax County department, and act as "ambassadors" for the program, speaking to middle school civics classes.
