Job Description:

 

The Partnership & Development Manager is responsible for building and growing annual partnership and event sponsorship revenue; from cultivating prospects to closing partnership/sponsorships and managing ongoing relationships. Manage and grow the Leadership Fairfax Alumni membership and identify meaningful membership benefits that will engage our alumni members. Identify new revenue streams and collaborative opportunities for financial support, including innovative ways to reach new organizations throughout Fairfax County.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in development, fundraising, and relationship-building

·       Ability to communicate effectively with executives and senior managers. 

  • Outstanding writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service focus
  • Adept at prioritizing and time management 

·       Proven track record of building community relationships to include: corporations, other non-profits and local government 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify prospective corporate partners and conduct research to establish mission alignment.
  • Contact prospective/current corporate partners via emails, calls, meetings, and social media to activate or increase giving levels. 
  • Build and grow existing Annual partnership and event sponsorship revenue, from cultivating prospects to closing partnership/sponsorship and managing the ongoing relationships;
  • Identify new revenue streams and collaborative opportunities for financial support, including innovative ways to reach new organizations in Fairfax County
  • Developing a stream of inventive, unique ways to keep sponsors engaged
  • Coordinate partners and sponsors benefits and their delivery in coordination with our other teams;
  • Manage the major corporate/organization relationships 
  • Build and grow our alumni memberships
  • Identify innovative and meaningful membership benefits and engage with our alumni members
  • Work as part of a team to grow development strategy for the organization as a whole, integrating current efforts into a long-term strategy.
  • Consistently track all communication/outreach with prospective, past and current corporate partners. 
  • Efficiently analyze data to create/recommend new engagement strategies and optimize existing processes and approaches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Achieve qualitative and quantitative targets, for example 20 outreach activities per week to meet established donor goals.

Leadership Fairfax is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (now the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce). We are Fairfax County’s foremost leadership organization. For over 30 years, we have collaborated across sectors to inspire, develop and engage leaders to impact issues facing our local community and the region at large. We offer four community leadership programs: Leadership Fairfax Institute (LFI), Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI), Inclusive Leadership Institute (ILI) and Lifetime Leaders Program (LLP). In addition, we have a new initiative entitled the Youth Leadership Network, which is a collaboration between Fairfax County and Leadership Fairfax to create a collective umbrella under which youth councils in the county can network, engage in volunteer opportunities and expand their leadership skills through educational courses that address leadership topics important to youth. The leadership network provides training opportunities for youth council members, advisors and mentors.
